The Rocks got little production out of the offense tonight and the bullpen had one bad inning that cost them the game.

It all started with the Rocks getting on the board first with left fielder Anderson Miller hitting a solo home run off Lynchburg’s starting pitcher Thomas Pannone which gave Rocks the early 1-0 lead.

The only other score for the game for the Blue Rocks was a 2 run home run in the 9th inning by 3rd baseman Mike Hill that cut the score to 5-3 Lynchburg.

Rocks starting pitcher Corey Ray was excellent in his start against Lynchburg with 5 innings pitched, 7 hits allowed, 1 run allowed, walked 1 and struck out 8 on the night.

Then the bullpen came in and started out flawless but then it got a little rocky at the end.

Pitcher Todd Eaton came in for Corey Ray and only gave up 1 hit in his 2 innings of work.

Then Jake Newberry came in the 8th and gave up a 3 run triple from Lynchburg’s Dorssys Paulino  to  put  Hillcats up 4-1 and then Newberry  let a sac fly in to score later on in the inning to make 5-1.
